Over the past five years our organization has undergone a period of exciting growth and transformation. We have worked hard to strengthen our education programs to ensure we are doing our best to change lives through education. As we strengthened our work, we began to expand our role as advocates for adult education in Cincinnati.
Within this period we began to feel limited by our former name, Lower Price Hill Community School. This name has meant so much to us over the years, since it has been our identity since 1971. However, people confused our organization as being a charter school or as our neighbor Oyler School. We knew it was time to make our name match our work, so reflected on what we do and how we want the world to understand who we are. After much searching and discernment we selected the name Education Matters because it captures our philosophy in two simple words.
We have always believed that education matters and it this belief that drives our passion. Our identity is still firmly rooted in our history and the Lower Price Hill community, but with our new name we can become stronger advocates for education in Cincinnati and strengthen our work in adult education.
