When students enroll at Education Matters, we ask them to share why they choose to re-engage in learning. We recently read many of these statements, and it brought us so much joy and inspiration. Our students come here for so many important reasons: to get a better job, to be able to read with their children, to know how to make connections in a new country, or to learn how to read important documents.
In the past year, many of our students have achieved their dream goals. Christine, a 2013 GED graduate, just completed her degree in Nursing at Cincinnati State. Mohamed advanced from a beginner English student to a soon to be GED graduate. Kahn earned his GED after overcoming many barriers over the past four years. We have hundreds more stories that we could share – stories of how education opened doors that seemed impossible but are now a reality.
We would like to ask you to join in answering the question we ask hundreds of students each year: Why does education matter to you? Would you be where you are today without your education?
If you believe that education matters, please consider investing in our students. Your dollars go directly toward making education possible for over 300 students each year. We need your support to raise $7,500 for our upcoming classes and student support fund.
Let our students know that their “because” matters.
