Local Initiatives Support Coalition (LISC) has chosen Education Matters to receive a portion of its New Markets Tax Credit (NMTC) award. Notably, Lower Price Hill was one of only five communities nationwide to be chosen by LISC for this investment.
The NMTCs will be utilized by Education Matters & Community Matters to renovate our historic campus in Lower Price Hill in an effort to provide necessary services and opportunities in the neighborhood. The NMTC will be combined with our 2 million dollars of private funds and Historic Tax Credits to completely renovate our complex. This is a huge investment in our community and we are honored to have been selected by national LISC for this allocation. We started construction this past fall and have completed most of the work in The Sanctuary. This allocation allows us to move full steam ahead with our entire project.
If you would like a preview of our renovation progress, come to our Bend in the River Art and Music Festival on October 4-5, 2014.
